Why You Need Dance Shoes
The race cars in the Townsville 400 have their own shoes, otherwise known as tyres. Racing cars are built to have incredible handling around turns when equipped with performance tyres. Put on a set of touring tyres and the car will go around the track, but it will be slow as the touring tyres don’t handle the turns as well. Salsa dance shoes are your performance tyres. They’ll allow you to connect to the ground and spin more easily and effortlessly. Put dress shoes on and you won’t be able to turn as well. The ease of motion from salsa shoes enables you to get better results dancing with less strain on feet, legs, and joints. Once you’ve been dancing with salsa dance shoes for a while, try dancing with regular dress shoes, you’ll wonder how you ever danced in them.
Shoe Fitting Salsa shoes have a great fit unlike other shoes. Worn slightly tighter than regular street shoes, they should have a snug fit but should not pinch nor bind the dancer’s feet. Salsa dancers need to be able to move with ease without hurting the feet. The feet should be in contact with all parts of the shoe. If the foot constantly slips out of the shoes, the dancer cannot maintain poise and grace. Salsa shoes mould to the shape of your feet and are more comfortable than regular dress shoes to dance the night away in. Ladies shoes should have closed-in backs and ankle straps for a more secure fit. The front portion can be open or may have a mesh to keep the toes from hanging out. If your toes tend to hang out of the shoe, you may want to consider one with mesh. There is nothing sexy about seeing a woman’s toe hanging out of her shoe. For men, the shoe should also be snug and tight fitting. The shoe is made of flexible leather that will mould to your feet. If you get a shoe that it not tight enough, it will forever feel loose. Men should wear thin dress socks with their shoes. The first time you wear your salsa dance shoes, they will feel tight. At this stage, the leather is starting to stretch and mould to your foot. You need to wear them at least three or more dance sessions to allow them to break in. Salsa shoes are built to be flexible and may not provide enough support for some people, so it is a good idea to see a health care professional before using salsa dance shoes.
